Melbourne-based telecommunications firm Vivatel has upgraded its infrastructure to enable inbound call capture. This facility allows the recording of audio and video from a calling handset, opening up numerous potential applications.
Possibilities include video mailboxes, dating services, and all kinds of customer-submitted content, such as talent competitions, live roving reporters, and detailed consumer feedback.
The call capture feature is activated from Vivatel's VIXML scripting language, allowing integration with customized interfaces. The captured video stream can then be pushed to an application-specific remote script where further processing takes place. For example, the captured stream might be e-mailed off, stored for later access, or streamed in real-time to a computer display.
As a standard VIXML feature, call capture is available to Vivatel customers at no extra cost.
